Allergy Adoption Steps

So you are allergic and want to adopt a kitten? Good for you!

1. Read about the allergen levels in our Siberian cats. We test our cats for feld-1 levels and post the results on our website.

2. Complete your Kitten Inquiry Form. There is no obligation to adopt by completing the form and no cost for submitting it to us.
Our kitten inquiry form contains allergy questions. These help us provide you with feedback on your specific likelihood of adoption success, and steps you can take to prepare for adoption and avoid reactions. For example, if you are strongly allergic, it can be a great idea to see an allergist and begin allergy shots. Every step you take to reduce your sensitivity is a step in the right direction. We can tell pretty easily if you are open to taking steps to keep an allergy friendly environment. For example, folks who are "dying" for a kitten, but have shag rugs, curtains, overstuffed furniture, live in a small space, have asthma, and are dismissive of making changes are not a good bet a successful adoption - the soft furnishings with trap dander and fur (and therefor any feld-1 produced) and create problems over the long run.

2. Order a fur sample and follow our very clear directions on how to allergy challenge with it.

3. Identify and gain commitment from your Safe Home Contact.
Your Safe Home Contact signs/notarizes your  contract committing to provide a permanent home for your kitten if allergies arise at any time in the future. We do not refund your adoption cost. Any money is between your safe home and you, the allergy adopter. We do not rehome for allergies. We want to be sure that allergic adopters know they are not "trying out" the kitten.

4. We offer the opportunity to allergy challenge with our cats.

5. Make your Kitten Reservation!

6. Select and confirm your kitten : )

7. Begin homecoming preparations.

8. Make arrangements for your kitten's pick up or shipping :)

9. Cuddle your baby kitten!
