Harness your kitten or cat for safety!

Many of our families enjoy having their Siberians with them in parks, on errands, and for car or plane trips. For safety, it is important to remember to have our sweet friends harnessed and have a light leash available to slip onto the harness when they are not crated.

A neighbor's recent unhappy experience in a large metro airport with a scared runaway cat is *not* something any of us or our cats should ever go through! This cat was not harnessed. When Security requested that the cat be removed from the carrier for inspection, the new noises and surrounding frightened it. It tore out of its owners arms and dashed away.

Many hours later, after our neighbor missed his flight, the terrified cat was finally located. Had this cat been harnessed, and a leash available, the nieghbor would have reached into the carrier, firmly grasped the harness; then gently holding the cat, clipped the leash onto the harness. At this point, holding the leash with a hand through the loop, and the harness, the neighbor could have easily removed his cat. Even had the cat startled and attemtped to bolt, the most that could have happened was a sharp drop to the floor. A lot less dangerous, and certainly much less terrifying for all concerned!!

Remember to always have your Siberian harnessed whenever you are leaving the house! The harness provides a safe way for you to grasp your cat if something startles her, or you need to keep her close to you.

We have recently discovered that the COASTAL tie out harness is easy to put on, secure, and does not bother our boys. Rather than the tricky struggle to put on a harness that we always dreaded before, now getting our Siberians ready to enjoy the outside is a 30 second breeze! We've enjoyed so many happy, sunny hours in our back yard and on our deck this year, since finding this Coastal product!

And... here's a small dog! ;)
