Hi Tracy - I missed a msg. form you about Boris and my allergies. He does bother me a little, but I do let him sleep with me and I know I shouldn't. With spring coming and those allergies coming as well - I hink I may have to shut him out of my bedroom. Did you have any allergy trouble when you added Tessa? I am really wondering if i can tolerate 2 without doing alot of special stuff to keep allergens down. Bathing Boris is a task that we do not look forward to, but we do it - not as often as we should, howvever. Thanks for your thoughts! Amy

HI Mia and Tracy -- Do you call your kitten "Stay-see" or "Stahh-see" or "Stah-zie"? Just curious! I have been reading it as Stahh-see....
We had too many problems with loose stools that wouldn't go away and our vet told us to choose one food and stick with it. I know that 's not what ForestWind recommends, but that's what worked for our cat. We feed her cat food ordered from a company called The Pet Pantry. They deliver right to our front door and it's pretty healthy stuff. Let me know if you want more info.

Hi Tracy and Mia and family,
We are delighted to hear that you have a new kitty on the way!! Sorry I never got around to answering your other email- our Kisa's parents are Feodora Vemas and Rossity Sultan. I just scrolled down and read a message to you from emmagram- sounds like she now owns Feodora as her cat! How cool! Anyway... as far as the first few days, we followed Kate's advice quite a bit. We kept Kisa in a separate bedroom with the door closed and just went in to visit her with food and toys. She cried a bit the first night and I remember going in to the room to sit with her. She hid a lot under the nightstands the first few days. I made my daughters and myself be super super patient with her. I was thrilled to find that she was totally litter trained with no accidents even the first day. After a few days we opened up other rooms to her, but always put her back into the original bedroom at night. Within a week she was trying to burst out of the room when we would open the door so we figured that was a good sign that she was ready! We also had to slowly introduce her to our dog, and that went with no problem as she was so young and our dog was not very interested in her. We trained her (as much as you can train a cat!!) to come when we crinkled a cat treat bag. She pretty much comes when called... when it suits her! The first few weeks, she had some trouble with loose stools sticking to her fur and the vet suggested it was because we were mixing too many different foods and told us to just use one. We don't supplement with raw foods...it just doesn't appeal to us. The problem went away immediately when her diet became simpler. What else? Hmm, just take it very slowly and try to keep her, her food, and her litter box in just one room for a while so she/he isn't overwhelmed. I'm eager to hear how it works out! Yay a kitty! How lucky for you!!
Good luck! Post some pix!

Hi Mia and Tracy,
I am sorry for the loss of your Siamese. It is truly losing a member of the family. I will pray for "new life" in a Siberian for you. The new addition should remind you of the good life of having a feline in the family but without the chronic congestion your husband experienced : ) It is worth the wait to find the perfect match. Though I have to say, I think our match came straight from heaven! We knew we wanted an older cat. Our Feodora was one of Forest Winds foundation queens and actually has a 4.5 level, I believe. While I have cat allergies this level is non-reactive in our household! To be on the safe side it would be ideal to test with your husband but I understand that even a "high" level in a siberian is often lower than a "low" level in other cat breeds. Temperment is also an area to look at. My daughter and son are grown and have families that include Forest Wind Siberians. Each of them are completely unique. My son and his family visited Forest Wind to allergy test and let their little girl choose Chloe. His wife was in tears, she and my son liked several kittens, but Haley knew exactly which kitten was "hers" and Haley and Chloe kept finding each other! They just seemed to meld as one. It was beautiful to see. My daughter saw her fella online and immediately fell in love. He is 1000% boy! He is a laugh a minute. He "slides " down the slanted pantry floor, has "his own" toothbrush, carries around a plastic cup, undresses Barbie dolls, you name it he's tried it! lol There is nothing like a siberian for unconditional love wrapped in a fur coat. Enjoy your journey to meeting your newest family member!

HI Mia and Tracy,
We are right in Williamsville by Mill Middle. We are sooo happy with our Siberian- well worth the money. I am pretty allergic to cats, but my girls wanted one desperately so I started researching online and found ForestWind. The first time I went over to meet the kittens, I was actually allergic! Kate was super nice and had me come back in a month with a new litter. This time I skipped going into her house and she brought the new kitten out to the car. I had no reaction at all to this kitten so we took her home! Feel free to ask any questions! I would highly recommend ForestWind. They obviously really, really care about their cats and responsible breeding!

Hi: )
A Siberian will change your lives forever. You will smile more, laugh more, love more, enjoy all of life more : ) Our "countess" is a regal retired breeder and we could not love her more. We are symptom free allergy-wise. She is a gentle delight. We wish you all the joys of life with a siberian!
