ForestWind Siberian Cats

Adding a little love to your life!

Cats in our breeding lines.

The cats in our breeding lines are very special to us. They include the ancestors of our cats, and earlier cats in our breeding program, current cats in our breeding program, and any kitten we are raising for evaluation.

We'd like you to get to know the cats in our breeding program, too, along with the breeders who have sacrificed to bring this rare breed to the attention of the world :)

ForestWind Queens Enjoy Family Life

Our ethical and loving philosophy demands that we breed for good health, gentle and loving temperament, and low levels of the feld-1 allergen.  Our Hypoallergenic Siberian cats are imported from Russian foundation lines to help us achieve these robust goals.

Our Queens love to ramble through our house, enjoying sunny windows and the many nooks and crannies of a 100 year old home.

When ForestWind Queens are ready to kitten, they retreat to the nursery, a cosy room with warm baskets and dens for birthing and raising baby kittens.

Our Queens are either home bred here at ForestWind, or directly imported from Russian championship lines. They are selected for conformation to the standard, strong health,  genetic diversity, and loving, gentle personalities. We have two breeding focii: A Traditional Golden Line, and our newer Aboriginal Siberian Line.

Queens are playful their entire lives. We believe this is due to their role in raising and training kittens. If you are looking forward to an active, playful cat, even as an adult, you will want to consider adopting a female kitten.

We are updating our site to provide a photo album for each of "Our Cats."  In the album there will be photos, certificates earned in the show hall, and their pedigrees. We will try to add photos also of their parents and some offspring kittens. Thank you for your patience as we build this resource for you!

We are retiring our original girls, and worked with a collaborative group to import aboriginal Siberians who developed from eastern Siberia. Our new girls were hand carried by Maria of CICA cattery, from whom we owe a very large debt for helping guide us towards working with pure Foundation/aboriginal lines. Her husband, George, hand carried our Flashka Adagio from Moscow this spring.

Cirkumpolare Gostimira, fy 24

Cirkumpolare Gostimira with her gorgeous babies.

Gostimira was born in Norway from rare foundation lines bred to a strong Moscow line.

Her kittens are consistently excellent and she is one of the nicest and most easy going cats we've ever met - to say nothing of smart!

Thank you to Cathrine and Dag for this super affectionate girl who is a wonderful mother and loving cat!

Flashka is an incredible girl. She is pure Siberian, never crossed to colorpointed cats.

She was hand carried from Moscow to New York by George of CICA. And then our good friend Carol and her son Jared picked her up, and a few days later drove her from Long Island to western NY. After all this travel, she arrived purring and confident after her long trip! She has continued to be an exceptional delight - she gets along well with ALL the other cats, mothers the kittens, and keeps our Lab Puppy in line!  We can't wait to meet her kittens in 2010!

Flashka Adagio n 22  with thanks to Tatiana Vasiljevna Mamedova.

ForestWind Karolina  Hugonova ny 23 Our sweet Karolina is outgoing, loving, and full of energy. She is our first golden with the proper coarse, triple coat. We are pleased with her head conformation, and overall type development. In the above photo she is only six months old, we are eager to learn how she matures over the next three or four years! When she is three or four, we'll have her visit the show hall and see what the esteemed Judges in TICA and CFA and CCA think :) Karolina has zero amount FELd-1, is nice and typey, and has had one extremely affectionate and typey litter with ForestWind Wyatt - also a zero Feld-1 ForetWind Siberian!.

Photos coming of our newly imported Foundation Queens / Queens to Be:

Tirli Belka Sibirskoe Assorti, es 22 (click on her name for PawPeds pedigree), is our young cream silver Foundation Queen, currently living at Branchriver cattery in New Hampshire - THANK YOU, Mary and loving Family!!. Tirli is 18.8 % COI at ten generations, much higher than our typical COI of zero to five percent at 10 generations. However, due to her pure foundation status, we imported her to add diversity to the North American Siberian blood lines. By carefully selecting her breeding partners, we will be able to immediately provide litters with 0% COI. This is a bit more exciting than it seems ,as of course 1/2 the kittens are inbred, but with several generations of careful breeding selection, and placement with other North American breeders, we will have contributed to the long term health and genetic diversity of the Siberian breed :)

Promoting genetic diversity and pure Siberian development, we imported and co - own two Queens: Solynshko Lesnoe Tsarskaia Rodnia ("Olivia") who is living with Mary of Branchriver, and Ivanka Veshiy Son, n 22, who is 0% COI at ten generations. She has a VERY rare pedigree.

ForestWind Studs are Chosen From Russian Championship Lines.

They are selected for conformation to the standard, health, and loving, gentle, and playful personalities.

Our ForestWind Studs are part of the family. Non spraying boys "live out" in the house, and our "hosers" join the family daily for play time, cuddling, and combing to keep their gorgeous coats at their peak!

The right stud is very hard to find. Since a boy will share his genetic makeup, looks, and temperament with many more kittens than a girl will, it is essential that the addition to the Siberian Cat breed be carefully considered. Boys are selected for health, temperament, conformation to the FIFE standard, genetic diversity, and the original large size, and pairing with our sweet Queens.

We do offer  our boys at stud to Traditional and Aboriginal Siberian catteries interested in protecting and expanding the genetic diversity of the Siberian Forest Cat.  If you are a dedicated breeder -- perhaps with limited room for housing multiple males permanently --who is interested in stud service from one of our sweet, healthy males, you can easily contact us at

Rossity Sultan, TICA Triple Grand Champion, CFA Champion, CFA Best of Color 2008

With many thanks to Elena Gorenmova of Rossity Cattery, Moscow, Russia for our very first boy!

Sultan is our golden brown classic male from Moscow. His kittens are true lovebugs! He carries a lot of genes, and it is always interesting to see "what we get" when he is mated to one of our girls. For example, we can get patterns of classics, spotteds, and colors of blues, golden browns, or goldens. He also carries cscs, so if mated to a Queen who also carries, we could get Neva patterned kittens. We are breeding for the traditional coat and wilder look, so this is not something we plan for. However, it could occur.

Stimic's Flynnssonn Sibirsjkii, red spotted with white, only 8 months in this photo! He is gentle, very large, easy going, and quite handsome :) Flynn has contributed some lovely large, happy, genetically diverse, and well conformed goldens to our golden development program, and he will be retiring this summer. If you are committed to good health care and willing to provide a heart scan two to three years post adoption, contact us for an adoption application for Flynnsson.
We thank Stina and Micke from show winning cattery Stimics in Sweden for this amazingly loving boy!

Feodor Vemas, golden boy from Valenvic cattery, Moscow, Russia. Thank you Viktor and Valentina! If you scroll to the bottom of their webpage, you will see Feodor's mother and sister, recently retired ForestWind golden Queen Feodora Vemas.  As you can see from these
June photos, his golden color is amazing. He is also very gentle with the girls and babies, and wants nothing more than to be combed, hugged and made over. Theo is retiring this summer, and will be joining his sister, Feodora in quite the cushy surroundings with our dear friend Chris in the Fingerlakes of upstate New York :)

Stud to be, ForestWind Wyatt, age 6 months in photo.

Wyatt, named after my youngest nephew, Wyatt Grant, is the son of (Eleonora Silva Line x Cica Sharik). Looking at him, I think you will agree, golden tones have been in Siberians from the very beginning.  Wyatt has started his foray into the wide world of showing. This past fall he was exhibited at the Pet Expo in Toronto, and this winter he experienced his first TICA show in Edison, NJ. Wyatt is shy like his father, Sharik, and we've found that although he is anxious, the opportunity to interact with the caring and gentle judges helped him understand that people are gentle and kind. We are hoping he will continue to come out of his shell. As a large boy with a lovely well marked coat, we would like to have the opportunity to introduce him to our fellow fanciers :)

Boys @ Stud:

To Jorrah Cattery in Alberta: Silver with white Hugo Z Zimnej Krainey from Poland.

Clik on the photo of Hugo enjoying a summer walk in Alberta to be taken to Jorrah's website!  Hugo gives us large classically coloured golden kittens. That is kittens who are more silvery golden, like the Persian standard golden, rather than the warm coppery golden that we are breeding for;  however, his kittens are large, and typey, and his golden daughter with Jorrah Novia, ForestWind Annie, who lives in Ontario, placed first Siberian in one of the rings during the TICA show in Hamilton, Ontario this September. We are excited to see the lovely kittens he will father for Jorrah while enjoying his gorgeous Canadian holiday! When he returns, he will be bred one last time and retired to enjoy a life of true ease :)

To Pendraig Cattery in Texas: Golden spotted Jorrah Karat from Alberta.
This is a sweet photo of Karat, our giant golden boy, at home in Alberta at only five 1/2 months. He is the son of two Moscow imports: ForestWind stud Feodor Vemas, a gorgeous Valenvic golden, imported from Russia and bred to Jorrah's Queen, Eva So Foxy Onix Gloria. This boy is HUGE! He will be returning home, and taking the place of his father, when "Theo"  retires next year. Here is a photo of Karat in July. Not even two, and quite the armload!
