Sultan was born in the Moscow cattery Rossity on March 5, 2005. He weighs 13 pounds.

Sultan is low allergen. His fel d 1 is tested as a four year old adult in the dead of winter as only .19. This level is considered non-reactive. If you react to Sultan, you are likely allergic to fel d 4, or so allergic that having a cat would not be wise.

Sultan is FEV/FIV negative.

Sultan is Blood type A

Sultan's COI is less than 1 % inbreeding at 10 generations!

Sultan was echocardiographed biannually by a Board Certified Veterinary Cardiologist. At his death from PKD, April 2012, Sultan's heart was found to be clear for HCM.

Sultan died in April, 2012 of PKD, diagnosed via necropsy at Cornell Veterinary College.
Click here to read the necropsy report from Cornell and the genetic test from UC Davis.

Sultan is PKD1 negative per UC Davis, May 2012.
The gene test for PKD is not a reliable indication of whether a cat has PKD or not. It is most reliable for Persians and breeds created from Persians. If a cat tests postive for this PKD gene mutation (it is only one of  many) it has Persian ancestry. The only way to prove a cat is PKD negative is to have a specialist scan the kidneys. Cysts in affected cats are present from birth.

Sultan was a large, beautiful cat with a loving and gentle temperament. He passes excellent conformation and temperament to his kittens. Sultan has two sons in breeding: ForestWind Ian and ForestWind Freddy. He also has three golden daughters in breeding, ForestWind Rada, Radka, and Radaslava.  Sultan has Championship titles in both CFA and TICA. Sultan is a Supreme Grand Champion in TICA.

His wonderful personality, excellent size, and stunning conformation were commented on over and over by judges. But by far, our favorite comment was from a judge at Livonia who exclaimed, "This cat's photograph needs to be next to the definition of "Siberian" in the dictionary, he exemplifies the breed!"

Sultan has a (new) TICA Show Announcement!

After the Westchester TICA show TICA is now a Quadruple grand Champion!

We are so proud of his achievement in only three shows!

All Sultan's current wins are in summer coat (short coat) only, we are excited to see how he will do in winter coat!

We are deeply appreciative of Rossity Cattery for entrusting us with this very special boy when we were brand new, from America, and unknown. Thank you, Elena!!

At the Buckeye oHIo Rollers  show, Sultan achieved his TICA Triple Grand Champion, finaling for the first time as "Best Cat!"

Sultan was a one show TICA Double Grand Champion at the KoolKats Club's Hamilton, Ontario show in September 2009.

Sultan takes his first TICA titles!

At the TICA Kool Kats Show in Hamilton, Ontario, Sultan took three TICA  titles: Champion, Grand Champion, and Double Grand Champion. We enjoyed meeting many breeds not shown in CFA, such as the Savannah, Toyger, and Bengal; and making friends with new Breeders, and enjoying fabulous cats such as the gorgeous red ticked Maine Coon from Coonificent Maine Coons who was cleaning up in all the rings :)

BEST OF BREED!! NEW CHAMPION!

We are thrilled to share that Rossity Sultan is our new Champion as of November 30, 2008!
We are thrilled to share that Rossity Sultan took Best of Breed in our CFA Region for 2008!

And here he is with Diana Doernberg in the Allbreed Ring being judged for his 8th winners ribbon.

We are looking forward to his winter coat coming in and showing him off better. We were delayed getting him exposed on the three season porch to build that tremendous Siberian coat of his. His gorgeous green eyes and superlative temperament drew many praising comments from the judges! We appreciate the care and time the judges took the standard and our new breed. Thank you again, Elena, for trusting us with this special boy :)

Sultan Rossity, a rare golden classic tabby, was born March 5, 2005 to parents Lancelot Onix Gloria (golden classic tabby) and Rossity Guiteynea (brown spotted tabby). Sultan's personality defies description. He is the most loving, affectionate and gentle male cat I have ever known. He will walk away from eating to give a beloved person a hug, running and jumping up onto the tallest perches of one of his climbers to be able to reach down and pat you on the head as you walk by. He also has a great sense of humor. I am always sure now to watch where he is when I am cleaning the litter boxes.  He loves nothing more than to stroll nonchalantly to the other side of the room while I am bending over, and then quick as a flash, run full speed and leap up onto my back! "Ta DAH!" He seems to be saying. The first time he did it, he didn't know to keep his claws in and my loud yelp made him horribly forlorn. Now he knows to be gentle, but he can't resist the startle if he can get away with it!

Like many Siberian males, Sultan is extremely gentle with the ladies and the babies. He adores baby watching and the mamas all trust him with their precious litters. It is not unusual to find him literally covered in tiny kittens play about in his fur. He will carefully clean and check them all, and go to find any that have wandered off and are calling.

Here is Sultan in Moscow at 2 1/2 months engaging in one of his favorite activities - sleeping at the tip top of a climber.

This is the genetics report from UC Davis Veterinary School stating Sultan is negative for PKD1. The genetic test for PKD1 is only good for Persians and cats who are bred to Persian cats. Even Persian cats have to be sonographed for PKD in order to be negative. There are many more mutations of the PKD gene that have not been identified yet. Even when they have been it will still be more efficient and accurate to have testing conducts by a Board Certified Veterinary Internist and sonograph than by genetic sample.
